About
Russell's Viper:
The Russell's viper (Daboia
russelii) found in Bangladesh is one of the most venomous snakes in the
country. This species is highly respected and feared due to its potent venom,
which poses a significant medical threat to humans.
Furthermore, as stated
by we are all aware of the "Hibernation" issue. Basically about 15°C.
At temperatures close to this, animals like snakes or reptiles go into
hibernation. So if I calculate, I can see that from mid-September to February
they go into hibernation as per their need to balance the temperature and as
usual they slowly come back again around March/April. Moreover, This Russell's
Viper does just that, and especially at the beginning of the year it goes into
reproduction (basically mating), is able to produce 20-40 babies on average in
her 6 months or so. That means if I take the mating time in January, then after
6 months in June, July or August, their offspring spread. So they increased in
number.
Being terrestrial,
nocturnal and carnivorous in nature, it prefers to live in dens, especially in
open fields, farmlands and grassy areas. On the other hand, humid environment,
aquatic environment and dense forest are very disliked by him.
That means
post-hibernation is when the weather is relatively wet and you don't usually
see them on the roads (March-April-May).
As well as, they are Precocial (as soon as the eggs hatch, they can move
freely, moving around normally). In
contrast, you will not see them moving in groups, they are solitary in nature.

Some
facts:
*Almost all snakes of
the Viper family are venomous. This snake is no substitute for that.
* This snake is mostly
found in Asian continent and spread in Bangladesh since long ago. Many think
that it is a new import in this country. But this information is not correct.
* Baby Chandrabora / Russell's viper, Lizards, scorpions, crabs hunt and eat them and the main food of adults is rodents.
*They do not eat
people, but most young snakes are nervous. So think about it, you are nervous,
when someone suddenly tries to hurt you, you must fight back to protect
yourself.
*They are the only ones
that really attack to hurt someone and are more aggressive than other snakes.
*They are able to
pounce by erecting the front 3rd of their body into an S shape, which is why
they can set their teeth with more force than other snakes and hold the pounce
for a few seconds.
* Their venom lethal
dose in human body is 40-70 mg.
Please
Note That:
Recognize Chandrabora
snake / Russell's viper, know about it. Do not tease or hurt the snake
unnecessarily. The danger will be yours. Don't kill any snake you see around in
fear of a snake. Killing beneficial and non-venomous snakes can have major
impacts on ecosystems.
